Office for Greater Bay Area Developments
Description
In response to the "Outline of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan" promulgated by the Central Government in February 2019, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) established the Office for Greater Bay Area Developments (GBAO) in 2020. Leveraging its strengths in international perspective, global integration, excellent research, high standards in education, and the unique advantages of "One Country, Two Systems," CUHK aims to actively participate in the development of the Greater Bay Area and facilitate its strategic plans through GBAO.
GBAO serves as a coordinating hub between the University and CUHK subsidiaries in the Greater Bay Area, contributing to the management of cross-border activities, risk assessment, and compliance. It also provides relevant support to university staff members, students and alumni in academic research promotion, innovation, entrepreneurship, and other activities. By fostering effective communication and collaboration, GBAO aims to strengthen partnerships with municipal offices, industry partners, alumni organizations, and other universities/institutions. In general, GBAO plays a vital role in driving and executing various initiatives and projects for CUHK in the Greater Bay Area.
