Description

The Office of Innovation and Enterprise (OIE) facilitates the translation of CUHK innovations via establishing vibrant and interactive platforms amongst the industries, investors, government and academia. While communicating the external parties and enterprises with CUHK researchers, OIE specifically serves start-up companies formed by CUHK students, staff and alumni, promoting public-private-university partnerships.

What we endeavour:

  • Build Strategic Alliances between CUHK and External Partners (corporates, NGO, governmental/statutory bodies)
  • Cultivate I&T ecosystem for development and adoption of CUHK innovations
  • Enhance CUHK footprints and global connections

What we do:

  • Fund sourcing and matching for early-stage CUHK I&T projects/start-ups
  • Engaging and aligning external stakeholders with internal parties for commercialization of CUHK innovations
  • Hold Intellectual Property and professional management trainings
  • Provide business operation support (legal, business development, financial analysis, investor matching, etc.)

What we achieved:

  • Facilitated private and external grants for CUHK researchers e.g. Nan Feng, Gates Foundation and ITF
  • Solicited CUHK researchers and start-ups to participate in ITIB Raise+ grant applications
  • Coordinated CUHK national-classified research projects (aerospace, etc.)
